Lisa Gordon
“I received an MFA from California State University Fullerton in 1992. During my education, I developed an understanding of my place in the art world in relation to the vast history of equine art. I vowed not to be dismayed by the often traditional depictions of horses. I wanted to breathe new life into the horse’s form, juxtaposing the past with contemporary presentation. My schooling exposed me to bronze casting and I developed a passion for the casting process. After graduating, I worked for numerous foundries throughout the Southwest. The balance with history, the casting process and my love for horses is the foundation for my work today.” – Lisa M. Gordon
