Greg Allen

Growing up in New Mexico, Greg Allen has always had a deep passion for the Great Southwest!  He is a highly celebrated oil painter, who loves to capture light, form, and architecture, in his masterfully developed contemporary style.  He continues to be inspired by the elements that define our Southwest: it’s expansive skies, striking florals, erosional forms, and iconic adobe churches.

“The stark reality of nature stirs my need to capture a subject.  I want the viewer to experience that same emotion to which I was drawn.  The challenge comes in depicting the subject, to enough of a likeness, that others can share a common feeling, and be drawn in as well.”

He is largely a self-taught artist.  Allen has won numerous regional juried shows, including “Best of Show” in the El Paso Arts International, and the New Mexico Heritage Museum.  His artwork is featured in prominent permanent collections: City of El Paso, and the University Medical Center, El Paso. His paintings have a familiarity to them that makes them desirable to collectors both here and abroad. He is a member of Oil Painters of America.
