Jim Budish
Bronze sculpture artist Jim Budish is well known for his unique way of representing animals in his work. Jim states about his art: “As an artist I try to create a smile through my sculpture by reaching into my subject, attempting to capture the “Joie De Vivre” that I believe is “lurking” somewhere inside all of us. In my minimalist approach, with simple economy of line, I want to capture the essence of my subject’s spirit, emotion, attitude and personality.”
Budish describes his artistic process for creating his bronze art: “I typically sculpt in clay on maquette size works and cast in bronze via the lost wax method. On larger – life size and monumental works, I prefer to sculpt in low-, or high-density foam. I then apply clay to the surface, before creating a mold and casting in bronze via the lost wax method.” I find this is the method that allows me as an artist to best achieve my goal.
Jim’s work is represented in Arizona by Wilde Meyer Galleries.
