Manny Valenzuela
Manny is a dynamic, Contemporary Artist, whose work is inspired by his colorful Hispanic heritage. “My love of the cowboy way comes from my grandfather who was a rancher in Sonora, Mexico.” Manny interprets this legacy through a character he refers to as a Gaucho. The Gaucho is typically painted using vivid colors and topped with a flat rim hat. The abstract nature of the work lends itself to the formation of a unique narrative based on each person’s own life experiences. His work is generally about life as represented by one or more Gauchos.
“Many of my works are metaphors of personal relationships using a Gaucho to convey the message.” Some of the designs are derived from childhood memories and others represent his relationships with family and friends. Bright colors and textures are mixed in a contemporary fashion creating a unique interpretation of the world around us. “Everyone has something to say I just prefer to communicate with paint or metal.”
Manny’s work is represented in Arizona by Wilde Meyer Galleries. Click on any piece to enlarge it.
