“Walking in nature. Drawing in gardens. Experiencing the environment. Expressing these moments in time through mark making and color. This is what inspires me. In essence, my art is an expression of what I have found beautiful in life. One stroke of color and line inspires the next. My work in soft pastels often informs my larger works in acrylic. I begin with a vague idea and get lost in the process. I respond to the surface and the act of creation is much like a dance. Working abstractly helps me tap into a more personal expression that is unique to my experience.”
