Artists create sometimes controversial images. People viewing them interpret them in unique ways. A painting that is seen as absolutely noncontroversial by one person, might be viewed by someone else as unusual, edgy, or even bizarre. Timothy Chapman’s flying Zebras or floating elephants might seem “weird” to some people, but to others they are perfectly charming and imaginative. Ryan Hale’s stark contrasted abstracts evoke that old cliché “my kid could do that”, from some people, but to others they evoke a sense of polish, sophistication and balance.Greg Dye’s exuberantly painted landscapes actually make some people stop and proceed with caution, but others respond to them with joy – just what the artist hoped for.

A celebratory show of inspired and inspiring art. Though Fine art can transmit feelings of somberness and trepidation, it can also send positive vibes. Many of our artists tend to convey the positive side of life. Jack Robert’s abstract work exudes an ethereal sense of exploding joy. Jeff Cochran’s backlit landscapes lead us up rutted roads to what we believe will be a beautiful vista when we round the corner. Though we know not where they lead, Larry Taylor’s inspirational paths make us want to go wherever they might lead. Robert Charon’s cool pools of Koi fish transmit a serine sense of balance. Acacia Alder’s desert landscape tranquilly emits a pleasant feeling of warmth, with a sometimes surprising pop of color. Also showing Sherri Belassen, Barbara Gurwitz, Lisa Gordon, and more.

The Source – That spot where creation springs fourth; where a seed is planted and brought to life. This highly anticipated show will feature the works of Linda Carter Holman, who brings a vibrantly rich world to life. In Carter Holman’s art, the viewer senses an excitement for life where a simple act or seemingly mundane task and makes it interesting. A cow grazing, a squirrel gathering nuts, or a beautiful young woman reading a book, coalesce in a scene to evoke special feelings, bringing new meaning to these actions. Lush and beautiful and full of vivid detail, Carter Holman’s works are not only aesthetically pleasing, but they also challenge the viewer by creating new perspective on life.

Wilde Meyer Gallery will be celebrating their annual Day of the Dead Show, presenting a traditional alter and decorations from October 20th through November 3rd. We will be serving refreshments, including Pan de Muertos, during the reception on October 27th. Come celebrate and have some great refreshments. You are welcome to bring a copy of a photo of your favorite deceased animal friend to leave at the altar. We all remember the great times with our animal buddies who have passed on. Dogs and Candles: Dogs were believed to guide the ancestral spirits to their final resting place in the afterlife. Candles represent fire and are a light guiding them back to visit the land of the living.
