Doug Weigel creates two-dimensional sculpture based on Native American petroglyphs. Doug is a master at interpreting ancient rock paintings into modern day metal wall and freestanding sculpture.
Jim Nelson bases his paintings on Lakota Sioux folklore and traditions. Jim uses the significant “power” colors of the Sioux to express his animal and human figurative works.
Amy Watts presents pictorial narratives in puzzle-like paintings to tell her stories. Whether it is a painting indicative of the life of a black mare, or a good Samaritan helping a fellow human, her works are expressive and fascinating.

The paintings in this show range from brilliant exuberating colors to somber tranquil interpretations. Gregory Stocks paints the best of “Traditional” landscapes. His interpretations solicit an appreciation of the landscape and nature, in and for itself not unlike like the Hudson River School.
Jeff Cochran presents almost eerie predawn settings, using atmospheric perspective, often including a few suggestions of cattle grazing, which contribute to the serenity. Barbara Gurwitz paintings show tranquil villages composed of vivid colors. The villages show no inhabitants. Are they deserted, or is everyone in church?
Joseph Young creates flat fairytale landscapes teeming with activity of fish out of water, butterflies, kittens and puppies all interacting with each other and the “landscape”. Leigh Gusterson uses brilliantly colored landscapes to lead the viewer on an adventure through her hills and valleys. Gusterson shows evidence of human and animal activity suggesting a rural bucolic lifestyle. For Stocks, the landscape is the story. For other artists, the landscape is the background to the story.

A group show of iconic American images, this show includes popular images which range from Trevor Mikula’s rendition of “Old Glory”, to inspiring visual interpretations of our iconic American landscapes, such as the Grand Canyon.
Also included are modern interpretations of cowboys and Native Americans by Karen Bezuidenhout, and Thom Ross. Doug Weigel interprets ancient petroglyphs. Gregory Stocks paintings of serene landscapes are so well-executed that we feel we are almost there viewing them in person.
Take your imagination “for a ride” with paintings. Michael Baum’s “Waiting” portrays a dark lonely road where a dog waits anxiously for the return of his human.
Fran Larsen’s “road” paintings give the viewer birds eye views of roads traversing electric colored mountains and valleys while, Sushe Felix’s trails lead through and around subtle Sonoran rock formations complete with native flora and fauna.
Serene country sides change to bustling city streets with Bill Colt’s nostalgic mixed media renditions of classic cars “making the drag”.

Wilde Meyer will again present a group show featuring a great selection of art by most of their artists. All entries featured will be $100 or less. The show is to benefit animal charities. Two of last years recipients were Felines & Friends and Equine voices rescue.
A wide variety of work will be shown include paintings, sculpture and prints. This show was conceived as a way to benefit animal charities, give our artists a challenge to create things for $100 or less, and also reward our wonderful collectors with a chance to acquire a “find” at a great price. The year the sale will be handled a little differently. Last year it was first come first sold. There were so many people who wanted the pieces we decided to do it by draw this year. Collectors can call email or come in to “buy” a piece. If there is more than one buyer for the same piece, we will draw to see who gets to purchase the piece. Buyers can start as soon as our evite goes out, and for the ones with more than one buyer, we will draw to see who gets the piece on Friday morning (June 6th), after the Thursday night (June 5th) event. Pieces not sold during this time, will still be for sale after Friday morning.
Most of our wonderful artists have chosen to participate again this year. Included are Jaime Ellsworth, Patricia Hunter, Bill Colt, Tracy Miller, Connie Townsend, Chaille Trevor, and so many more, we do not have space here to name them all.

Robert Burt’s stylized driverless cars and uninhabited landscapes evoke feelings nostalgia while challenging the audience to imagine what is on the other side of the hill or around the bend.
Ana Marini’s Journey to the Red Star series depicts women on faithful steeds transporting them to an imaginary world of excitement.
Barbara Gurwitz’s Birds eye views of inspirational little villages beckon the viewer to places of tranquility and idealism.

One artist, Robert Anderson, creates entrancing, abstract “visual songs” where striking colors create harmony, melody, and texture containing rich meanings significant to each viewer in differing ways.
Brian Boner sees and depicts his subject matter in an entirely different way. Using a more representational approach, his work is the embodiment and transformation of ideas and feelings into tangible form. His figural and sometimes collage-like compositions give a sense of memory and nostalgia.
Timothy Chapman began his collegiate career in biology which went on to influence his artistic and visual interpretations of wildlife. He refers to his style as “Invented Natural History Illustration.” His work attempts to illustrate the conflict between real and the imaginary. It is a take on nature that the precision of video and photography cannot replicate.
Also showing with be Tony Dow, Ana Marini-Genzon, Patricia Hunter, Jacqueline Ellens, Rena Vandewater and many others.

Wilde Meyer will be displaying “Views of the West”, an exploration of the varying ways our artists depict their western surroundings. Roger Alderman takes a “Plein Air” approach to his work. He uses bold color and expressive brushwork to replicate not just the appearance, but the energy and spirit of the landscape.
Sushe Felix’s work draws from American early 20th century stylized artists, like the Transcendental Painting Group in Santa Fe, yet is still representational of the natural world. With a focus on line and shape, her stylized animals and landscapes capture a moment in time.
Michael Baum’s western landscapes, are handled with finer brushwork to create subtle atmospheric style. Also showing will be Amy Watts, Barbara Gurwitz, Michelle Chrisman, Ka Fisher, and many others.
Known for their fabulous animal artists, Wilde Meyer Gallery will be presenting a show highlighting our nonhuman companions. Everything from the usual dogs and cats to feathered friends and rabbits will be represented.
“Amazing Animals” will open for the 1st annual Bone Appétit Artwalk. Everything from the photorealism of watercolorist Patricia Hunter to the offbeat oil on canvas interpretations of Trevor Mikula will be shown.
