Some artists use an economy of color, strokes, and composition, while others pay great attention to detail work in their art. This show highlights art with detail. Sometimes paintings appear to be very simple, but upon closer observation, one can see that there is actually great detail. One such artist is Jeff Cochran, whose landscapes, upon initial view, look very simple. In reality great attention has been paid to the details of placement of the paint upon the beautiful linen base he uses. In contrast, Barbara Gurwitz paints complicated landscapes which look very detailed, but in reality are very painterly.
