Christina Ramirez

“I am a process painter. I have always been interested in the experimentation of the elasticity of paint and how it can be manipulated on the picture plane; the fluidity and motion of Painting as a medium; it’s ability to be on the verge of collapse while maintaining its stasis. It’s what drives my painting practice. I’ve been fascinated with how this pursuit so closely mimics Nature in form, in both the finished visual image and the journey of the paint to arrive there. Through the application of multiple layers and constant motion, Painting becomes a controlled chaos, where forces stabilize of their own volition and leave their mark in doing so.” – Christina Ramirez
